Chinese Poker

Card games are played around the globe with their unique name and style of play. Chinese poker is one such card game. As its name suggests, it has nothing to do with international Poker except the fact that it also requires to have the best hand ranking to beat the players playing against you. Yes, this is Chinese poker without ever-popular international Poker. Prominently played in Asian countries, Chinese poker is basically a fun game played by the group of people for their simple card playing habits.

The game play of Chinese poker is crazy enough for an average international poker player. However, it is not as tidy as it supposed to be in its first look. Every player playing Chinese poker is dealt with thirteen cards, yes thirteen cards! Don’t amaze; each player needs to use his skill and experience to form three hand rankings out of his thirteen dealt cards. Three hand rankings are called back hand, middle hand and front hand ranking. Back and middle hand ranking consists of four cards each while front hand has the remaining three cards.

Betting Range

There are no set betting rules in Chinese poker. Winner is the player who holds the highest three hand rankings than others. Not all losing players lost the same amount each time they lose. It depends upon the mutual understanding between each playing partner. Each of them can make an arrangement with other to exchange a set amount on each loss or win. This way they secured themselves to be ashamed if they don’t have a matching budget with other playing members. That is why Chinese poker is preferably played among the group of close friends, relatives, and other players who are known to each other.
