7 Card Stud

7 Card Stud is one of the oldest versions of poker variants still played in many casinos. This is basically a table game played among 2 to 8 players. Object of the game is to have the highest 5-card hand ranking out of 7 dealt cards. Before the game starts, every player needs to place some initial bet called Ante – this amount is around 25% of the lower stake amount. Now game starts and every player is given three cards, two face down, and one face up. Player having the lowest face up card initiates the betting – called bring in bet. This betting amount should be equaled to lower end stage in fixed limit version of 7 Card Stud.

Player holding the lowest face up card place next round of betting and then fourth card is dealt - face up - to each player – called 4th street. Now onward, player holding the highest value dealt card will initiate the next round of betting. Game proceeds in the same way until all seven cards being dealt to each remaining player. Finally, remaining players’ show their highest five cards to find the winner of the pot money.

Sometimes, when all eight players remain until the end, there founds to be a shortage of cards because a standard deck only consists of 52 cards, and it’s impossible to deal eight player seven card each with a single deck – 8*7=56! To overcome this problem; last and final card is dealt as a community card faced up in the middle of the table, which is available to anyone to make his highest possible hand ranking.

Over the years, 7 Card Stud manages to surge in its popularity and remains a favorite poker game.
